I have a vision, a dream for a different society and nation. Being in the media, I think gives me an opportunity to act towards this change. Being at a premier institute imparting media education was my dream. My genuine internal desire and external struggle finally led me to the Centre for Media and Cultural Studies of the TISS. It’s a question I must confront every time I’m asked to talk or write about myself. I know I don’t know and it scares me. I have been a working as a print journalist for five years. I have written about visual art, theatre and film as well as social justice-related issues. I have also worked for Time Out Mumbai and DNA (Daily News and Analysis), and have contributed to World War 4 Report (www.ww4report.com), Hindustan Times and The Times of India. I have a Bachelor's degree in Cultural Studies from Eugene Lang College, New School University, New York and am very keen on trying to create a space for media practice, written and visual, that exists between the rarefied spaces of academia and the sensationalist mainstream media.
